I had a student teacher come into my class and one of the comments she made was how enthusiastic my class is. And they are, it can sometimes get a bit much at times as it gets LOUD, but overall, I would way rather have this than students who don't engage in what we are doing. My class pretty much gets excited about everything, I have a number of students in my class that have said they love school this year, and I think that is awesome! I think that is probably the biggest compliment a teacher can get.
One of my favourite things I like about my class is their participation in discussion. We are almost at the point where everyone participates, even the quiet ones. I have a few kids in my class that really commit to challenging their peers' understanding by questioning them and helping them draw out an explanation of their learning. Sometimes they shock me with the quality of questions that come out of their mouths. Right before spring break we had a lesson on kindness and anti-bullying that just blew me away. I basically just sat there in awe.
Another thing I love is that my students' enthusiasm is contagious.. or maybe we feed off each other?
